Looks like registration is open for the Great Lakes Tri (now named Tri del Sol?)... last year they did bike rack in order of registration so it was good to get in early. Not sure if they are doing the same this year but thought I'd pass along.

I'm a little confused about what race this actually is (or was?). Is this the former "Great Lakes Triathlon Championship" that was hosted by triathlete Adriano Rossa? He did a great job with the event and is one of my favorite local triathletes. He has also done more triathlons than anyone else in the state of Michigan.

Is this the same fellow and the same race?

Tom,

I do think this is the race formerly known as the Great Lake Triathlon/Duathlon Championship... don't recognize the name Adriano Rossa but the course is definitely the same. Looks like Gazelle took over this year.

I've done it the past two and it's been great - not a huge race, good support, lots of fun!

That was my first and only tri, so I can't compare it to any other tri but it went quite well for me.

If Gazelle is on board that is a very good sign. The race has a long and successful history and the addition of Gazelle Sports bodes well for the future of the event.

I've only done the event twice, and both times it was an excellent race.
