-Think I'd prefer a personal coach to a group session.  But I'm open to ideas...

Suggestions?

If you live up on the north side of town, Nitroswim in Cedar Park offers a wide range of classes, including masters class and tri specific class.  Might be a good place to start....

Both T-3 and Texas Iron have swim coaching. I know Jamie Cleveland and Andrea Fisher (Texas Iron) will do one-on-one coaching, but it's considerably more expensive than the group workouts. I have no experience with T3, but I hear their swim clinics are very, very good.

Thanks Kat.  Actually I do live up north.  Just 5 minutes from Cedar Park.  I'll check them out

I'm just finishing up the Austin T3 class and I really enjoyed it. Two nights a week. They did underwater videotaping along with pretty good group instruction. It was a bit pricey at $225, but I'd recommend it.

I came into it without any swimming experience and now I feel comfortable taking on a longer open water swim.
