Did anyone else notice that Aaron may have Down's Syndrome. Remember during Kate's hearing when her lawyer wanted her to bring Aaron into the court room to gain "sympathy" from the jurors??? Anyways, when she hugged him in the bed it looked like he had downs. He doesn't look like he does on the island, but maybe something happened to him??

I too think that Ben is #6. But the whole thing with Ben and Sayaid is weird...what's up with that?? All I know is that the girl he shot in the hotel room had the same bracelet on that Naomi did on the island. Is he after all the people that work for Penelope's father??? He is the one that owns the boat and we know the people from the boat are Not really there to rescue the passengers.

Didn't see the episode until last night (thank you DVR), so I have been avoiding this thread.  After reading it, I don't think I'm any closer to figuring anything out.

  • I don't think Aaron is the last of the Oceanic Six.
  • Hurley's comment of "good" really has me thrown off.
  • That boat was odd - - book upside down, girl in chains, blood splatter, etc

And where did the helicopter go?  They said he ran an errand, but the helicopter was gone a long time.

Juliette pi$$es me off. I cannot believe she did that. What's even more unbelievable is how everyone knows that she knows stuff about Ben and the island, but no one presses her for this information.

Bumped just to say.... wow.

Yup, it was a flashback/flashforward episode.  Can't remember where I read it, but the flash backs have the "whooosh" sound.... the flashforwards don't.  I was so sucked in to a happy ending, then they got to the grave... BAM, blindsided me.  Rewinded the DVR, sure enough, Jin's got a "whoosh,"  no whoosh for Sun.

Man that was a good episode. On par with the first few.

OK, here's a couple questions for those of you who think Aaron is not one of the Oceanic Six:

Do you really think that seven survivors (six adults and Aaron) get off the plane/boat/other rescue vessel and the media dubs them the Oceanic Six? Or do you have another explanation of how Aaron gets to the States with Kate?

An aside:  Has it ever been confirmed that Oceanic 6 refers to survivors? Or maybe it refers to survivors that are afflicted in some way? OR maybe more people got off the island and many then died and only 6 remain.

I may have missed a past episode where Oceanic 6 was directly related as "6 people that were rescued"??

At Kate's trial, Jack says that there were 8 survivors in the water when the plane went down, but 2 died. This is obviously the story that they are telling the media, which means that only 6 of them made it back to the mainland. It also means that the 6 are not saying anything about what happened on the island, which also means that those who stayed may not necessarily be dead.

Damn! Kate's trial - I had forgotten about that. Thanks!

EDIT: to add, according to other Lost boards, the producres specifically say that Aaron is NOT one of the Oceanic 6 in the March 10th podcast here:

I further do not think it is a coincidence that on the episode where the "last of the Oceanic 6 will be revealed" that we finally see Michael again.

Ben has been on the island since he was a young boy. How did he come by resources such as huge amounts of cash, passports, etc. How is it that Whidmore's people are aware of these resources? Could Ben be an agent for someone else? Does he have a 'silent partner? Did he enter into an agreement with Whidmore at one point and steal a lot of money from him? Many possibilities and potentially important to the story.

The whisperers are the Others (Harper, Guy who doesn't age etc) and I think that they are at least in part, the people from the ship in the middle of the island the logbook of which Whidmore bought at auction.

As to Jin, I don't think he's dead, I believe he's alive on the island. To Sun, however, he may as well be dead because the Oceanic Six, at least after initially leaving the island, believe that they cannot go back. Hence "I miss you".

That's all I could think while I was watching that final scene.  He HAS to be alive.

I agree. For me it's more that I WANT him to be alive. The storyline with Jin and Sun is a bit sappy but I don't want him to be dead either. Last week he said he would do everything he could to protect Sun and the baby, maybe something happen when they were getting off the island and Sun thinks he's dead but he's still with the other survivors? And how did you guys know the date on his gravestone was the date of the plane crash? Were the numbers on there and I just missed it?

As far as Michael, props to those who knew it was going to be him on the boat. Before reading these threads it never occurred to me that it could be him. (I don't pay attention to the credits) I also think he recognized Sayid, it looked like he made a glance like he knew him but was trying not to look at him. And I think I saw in the preview that the 2 of them talk in the episode tonight.

the gravestone had a death date that was too long ago to be Jin - I need to rewatch to give the details but that caught my attention last week.

I thought the death date was September-ish 2004 - which was when the plane crashed. (Keep in mind, the show has been running for 4 years, but the timeline of the show is only about 3 months so far. The episode "The Constant" happens on Christmas Eve of 2004.

I subscribe and listen to the official LOST podcast, and I don't remember that the producers ever "specifically say that Aaron is NOT one of the Oceanic 6." Certainly not in the 3/10 podcast, as I listened to it this morning and Aaron's name was never mentioned.

the bear's earlier point about the "oceanic 6" being a media-given name is the best argument for why aaron is one of the six. the fact that he was not on the flight manifest is not sufficient to cause the media to say, "technically, eight survived the crash, seven were saved, but only six were on the manifest, so we're going to go with 'oceanic 6,' okay?"
and from kate's flash forward episode, we know that it's public knowledge that aaron is with kate b/c her lawyer talked about bringing him to the trial.

i'm still siding with jin being dead. though since that's what we were led to believe, that right there is probably a good reason to think he's actually still alive. but i'm putting him in the dead pool along with the guy who accidentally blew himself up with dynamite.
