Best sunglases for heavy sweater....

Expert  1073   scottsdale, az |  Subject: Best sunglases for heavy sweater....I have bought a few pairs of sunglasses ( both Ironman brand from Target), but was very disappointed. Within minutes of running or biking, they fog up, and sweat drips into my eyes, stinging them. I would really like to find one good pair that does not cause me trouble. Any suggestions? |

I've been very happy with them. The other key is that I also use a Halo sweat band under my helmet. It helps tremendously keeping the sweat out ofmy eyes. THe tifosi's really never fog but they do get wet....can't help that or fault the glasses |

I like Tifosi - resonably priced and come with the fototec lens option (gradually darken in bright light) or you can get interchangeable lenses. I have the Slip and it came with 5 lenses for all light conditions and they were under $50

Expert 938 Orange County, California | Subject: RE: Best sunglases for heavy sweater.... I second the Halo Headband. It has a rubber strip that keeps sweat out of your eyes. When I bike hills, the sweat would sting my eyes and make it hard to see and dangerous especially on the downhills. They are about 15 dollars and you can order them online from Halo. Some REI stores carry them, some don't. They are made out of super absorbent synthetic material with a very small rubber strip on the inside. The rubber strip directs the sweat away from the eyes. The rest of the headband absorbs a lot of sweat. I wring it out after my workout and lots of liquid comes out. It dries quickly. |

I deal with the same thing you do, drips and fogging up. I usually wear safety glasses that are tinted and just deal with the sweat on the lens. I have gotten used to wiping the sweat from my forehead so much, that its second nature and I don't really notice it. |

My second lens is a real light yellow. Its light enough to wear in the dark and also provide a good amount of protection in the sun.They're great for early morning runs or late evening rides. Both sets of lenses are vented and they don't ever fog even though I too sweat buckets. Yes they aren't cheap, but they were well worth the cost, and I have many options for adding new lenses. Not to hijack the thread, but how do you keep your shades high enough on your nose so that when you're in aero, you still look thru them? Anytime I'm in aero, I find I'm looking over the top of my sunglasses, even if they're pushed all the way to the top of my nose. Seems like a good invention would be a shaded visor that hangs down from your helmet, though that would probably cause too much wind resistance... |

They are great in aero, the don't fog up, they don't have the "lip" on the bottom part of the frame to hold sweat beads, and they are transition lenses, so they are great on cloudy or sunny days. $170 |

It is an anti fog paste that works great on ski goggles. If you are considering M-Frames be sure they are the vented type as noted ^^^. they make both vented and non-vented. The regular M-Frame is not vented and fits some people tightly across the forehead and they will fog up with almost no effort ( I coach baseball and my M-frames will fog up just standing on the ball field). |

I have done multi hour rides, long runs, etc and no longer get sweat in my eyes or on my sunglasses. One of the best $15 I have spent on this sport. |
