Hi People,
I'm the bigfish from Ca. I have never done anything like this. I am in my first week of a 22 training schedule. I am fat and not completely out of shape, but I am used to playing soccer and other sports.

Welcome Bigfish!

A year ago I weighed in at 360 #'s (I'm 5'8"). Today I'm 176 #'s. It's a long story but this site has been a great source of help & inspiration. I plan on doing a sprint tri, my first. in June.

Best of luck!

Welcome bigfish--

I too enjoy the California training weather (poor frigid temperature dwellers!!) You sound like you probably have quite a story and that you WILL have quite a story!

Yeah big fish- first part to becoming a triathlete is your decision to do one. second step- deciding on the race, third and most important step- the training.... which you most probably will end up enjoying. i too am following a 22 week program and am 5 weeks into it.... for me the first two weeks were the worst- and now am loving it!

I hope you only experience great things during this time- lots of luck!

Wow, that is incredible! A month ago I was 246 I'm at 231 and 5'6" I will be happy if I break 220,but 170 would be awesome. Thanks for the inspiration. The first week is the easiest. Hopefully, it is the same at week 11. Good luck on your first sprint!

Alright Bigfish! I am 11 weeks into my 24 week plan and it is starting to get tough. I am in San Jose, so welcome another Cali. Glad to see you have started your plan and great to have you in the group. This is definitely the right sport to get the pounds off. Beginning was the hardest part now just stick with it.
