On this morning's run my watch beeped at me once and the HR reading went nuts - way up, way down.... Problem with watch or wearlink? Need a new battery in watch and/or wearlink? Suggestions?

Thanks

Did you put the wrist unit close to the transmitter part of the chest strap?  Mine has some feature where you can see your HR limits or something although I' haven't looked into what it is or how to use it.

Nope, didn't put the watch close to the strap. I do use that feature when running in the dark - it'll turn on the light and make your data selection such as HR or time really big to make it easier to see.

The watch seems to be keeping time alright but the HR part freaked out

There are areas where interference will cause what you describe.  Often this is near power lines.  If not, it could be as you said a battery issue, or the strap just lost its connection (maybe moved and wasn't making good contact).

Could be a number of things....

If it was at the very start of the run, the strap might not have been picking up your signal clearly. I have to break a light sweat to get consistent connectivity, or use a gel like buh-bump.

If it was during the run, it's either interference - which can be caused by many things, loss of connectivity to the strap (like if the strap slips down too low), or the battery in the strap. Hard to tell.
