Subject: need recommendation for bike shop near Mokena
In the market for a new road or tri specific bike. Any recommendations of a local bike shop around Mokena/Tinley Park, etc would be appreciated.

Thanks.

let's see... here are some choices...

Plank Road Cyclery...  Frankfort, IL... bought my bike there, but my boyfriend does not care for the place... but I liked them.  They have a good selection of road bikes.... you can check it out and decide for yourself... http://plankroadcyclery.com/index.cfm

Orland Cyclery...they are good, but don't carry alot of "high end" road bikes, but nevertheless... they're good, and their customer service is pretty good.  If anything, they will give you good recommendation on where to go for you what you are looking for.  http://orlandparkcyclery.com/

ChicagoLandBicycle... a few miles from Tinley, but you can handle the drive.. these guys know their stuff...  you might pay a $$$, but it'll probably be worth it.  My boyfriend races and swears by this shop, so they must be good... http://www.cbike.com/

Richard's Bikes... aka R Bikes.com... http://rbikes.com/  Not sure how many road bikes these guys sell, but they know their sheit.  If you have time, drop in to see them, tell them what you are looking for and they will tell you where to go. If anything, you can buy great bike gear from them and they always match lowest price, their customer service is great.... and super nice guys to top.

...and of course there is always Performance Bike... in Naperville, Schaumburg, and Downtown... take your pick.. on what kind of patience you have for the day in traffic and how much gas.  I prefer to travel to Schaumburg and the city store vs Naperville (Naperville is a traffic nightmare)... but that's just me.  http://www.performancebike.com/

Good luck... let us know how it goes.  I'm convinced, buying a bike is like buying a car.  You have to start looking for it a year earlier than when you actually want to drive it...Yell
