From the 2007 race report

http://www.onyourmarkevents.com/results.asp?id=1841

it appears only ~60 people ran this triathlon... really?  Has anyone done and and can confirm the participant count is small?  I'm planning to go and am trying to "budget" babysitting hours needed.  With such a small field, even my BOP self could finish before 9AM?

I haven't done it, and don't know how many people are in it this year, but I think that 9AM might be pushing it, if you are a BOPer.

It really depends on how they are doing the swim start.

If they are doing 8 lanes, 1 swimmer to a lane at a time, they would need 8 waves, which would take about 16 minutes to get to the last wave. Last year, the BOPers took about 35-40 minutes, so that would put you right at 9AM.

The PDF application does have a contact name, if you want to call them, and see how they are seeding and starting the swim. They would also be able to tell you how many people have already registered, though I would guess that there are a lot of on site registrations.

The swim is

25 yd, cross under lane, 25yd, cross under lane,  25yd, cross under lane, 25yd.
go to T1

so there's no waiting for a lane...just waiting your turn.
As I understand it, every 10 seconds someone starts swimming and passing is allowed in the lanes.  But yeah, calling is a good idea --old-fashioned but a good idea
