Who has one?

Which one do you have?

Do you like it?

I am looking at the Akona, Pika, and Bike Pro USA cases... there may be others I havent heard of and I would love to get your opinons. Im not interested in a hard case, as I have used them and I really dont care for them.

We have bike pro. I've never used it but my husband has. Loves it. Thinks its better than a hard case, not really sure why. Anyway, I know you can stuff a TON of stuff in there.

Does he typically get charged by airlines for oversize baggage, or the bike fee?

I have the SciCon aero case. I've been very happy with it. I can fit my 62cm tri bike in it and all I have to do is rotate the bars downward. With my road bike I don't have to do anything. Well take the wheels off, but no other disassembly is required.

I've done three cross-country round trips with it, and no problems.

Regarding airline fees, yes you'll have to pay the oversized bag fee. I've paid anywhere from $80 to $100 each way.

I don't have one but know someone who does tri's (and works for an airline by chance).  I think he has travelled a few times with his bike in a bike box (carboard type, not soft) and says he usually gets charged 1 way not both.  They are typically supposed to charge you both ways but if they are busy and don't want to deal with it they don't have to.  It really depends on who you get and their mood it sounds like.

Scott,

Does the Scicon aero case have enough space / pockets to fit other tri gear?
