Just checking in on participants in The Escape from Fort Desoto.

This is my first Escape Triathlon although I did Top Gun last Sept. A little worried about the 1/2 mile swim.

I will be there! I am more worried about the 4 mile run in deep sand. They will most likely make the swim with the current, so not a big deal. The St. Anthony's swim will be more of a problem. See you there...

this is my first tri of the season.  I've done it once a few years ago.... back when the run was 3 miles.    I"m worried about the run.

I hope the swim is with the current. Last year in Top Gun it was against the current and double the times. The water temp is 78 right now in the Gulf. Might be real close to non-wetsuits.

Really looking forward to my first one as well, can't wait.

I will be there.  This will be my 1st tri.

I don't think all of the run is in the deep sand.  I believe only from swim to transition is in deep sand and the rest is on packed sand or concrete.

I hope it is wetsuit legal.  I could use the help.

Last year the "packed sand" was like wet concrete for about half the run. (suncoast tri) And this is a mile longer.

I'll be there! Just be sure to wear socks or have broken in shoes for the run. Don't want to have blisters from running in the sand. The course is just great for first timers. The bike will be great! see everyone out there..I will be working registration a few hours thurs and fri. Come introduce yourself!

Just a few days away.  Of course, I started getting sick late last week and really started to feel it on Sunday.  Stayed home yesterday and went to the doc today.  Have a infection in my throat.

I told him I did not feel really bad but I had a tri this weekend and wanted to head it off if I could.  He gave me a Z-pac....

I just put in a whole day of work and I am quite tired.  I need to go to bed.

On a positive note, I did a practice tri on Sat at my neighborhood and it went well.  This is my 1st tri and I am excited.  I am taking my family to Fort Desoto on Friday and we are going to camp Fri night.
