Hello again everyone.

How about suggestions for bike fitting? If you'd include cost at the time that would be greatly appreciated. It's been said to learn from those that have already done it, which is why I'm asking here instead of just picking up the yellow pages and guessing.

I have a bike, I'm hoping I can get a good fit for less than $300 (which is almost what I paid for the bike itself!)

I had one done at the BGI a year ago and I had to re adjust just about everything, I just could not get comfortable, it was around $150 it gave me a base to work on and I spent the next 6 months tweeking the bike myself. I now feel good and have better power now. I would try Vern Lemere I have heard good things about him, he has a shop at the old Bike Wave store on 86th street.

I have been fitted with BGI and most recently, Summit City in Ft. Wayne. Yesterday was the first day I have been on the bike since I got fitted in Jan. except for trainer rides. David Coar will work with you until you are happy with the fit. He told me that bike fitting is something that will have to be adjusted as time goes on. My bike feels good so far, but I may have to get rid of my Specialized Toupe seat. It bothers my sit bones. But that's another subject.

I believe I paid $95 and it took around 2 hours to complete the fitting. I like Frank at BGI, but their prices are kinda high, so I thought I would try someone else. The nice thing about David is that he is a rider and I think a triathlete too.

BTW, did you ever find a nutritionist?

Vern LaMere did mine and I felt a lot better.  It was pricey, but he worked on my shoes and cleats as well.  Got rid of some knee pain and I got faster.  He's very good - definately worth the $.  He spent about 3 hours with me.

Yes, Thanks. I'm going to hire Heather at NIFS.

(I should have made this a poll question)

I see from the websites that BGI is about 1/2 the cost of Vern,
but then again both of you guys that used BGI had to be refitted anyway
so I guess it ended up about the same in the end.

I second Summit City in Fort Wayne. Did both my road bike and tri bike, Dave Coar does an excellent job, about $80.

G-Moose ....Vern at T-3 (formerly Bike Wave) is one of the best.... THe store is located at 86th and Ditch on the North side of Indy.

He has been doing this for a long time
