Subject: Two races in two days?
So I'm plannin' out my season, and I can't decide between two races that are on the same weekend. One is a half iron on Saturday. The other is a sprint on Sunday. What are the chances that I can do both? What are the chances that the sprint would go horribly? I know people sometimes do two hard workouts back-to-back, so maybe it could work for races too. Any thoughts?

People do the Desoto Triple T, four races in three days. Give it a try.

Doable just depends on how you plan and want to race.  If the HIM is your A race and you want to PR I would not suggest it.

As long as the HIM is the first one and the sprint is just a "let see what happens" race, why not? Obviously, it depends a lot on how demanding the HIM course is and what the weather is like that weekend (Hills, Heat, and Humidity would make Sunday's race a bear) , and make sure you listen to your body. However, I know one local guy who did an Olympic on Saturday (2nd overall) and a HIM on Sunday (5th Overall) and did them both at a high level so it can be done.
