Hey all,

Lucy Black is not just your ordinary, sixteen year old doing soccer, rugby, basketball, and triathlons.  She's a World Champion.  She won the “Best in the World” award for her Sports Studies GCSE results;  The GCSE is the General Certificate for Secondary Education and "the big exam" series for English-speaking schools everywhere but the US.

Read about her

Great job.  Congratulations, Lucy.  And welcome to BT.

Hi Lucy,

Way to go! As a 16 year American male I was very lucky to get in out of the rain on my own so I really have to applaud your achievement. It is interesting to to me that you are involved in rugby. A very good Swedish friend of mine and his fiance are in Sinapore currently for our company. We got to be friends through a mutual love of American football that Johan was playing in Sweden. After he got to Singapore, he had to take up rugby! I am working on him to take up triathlon.

My hat's off to you, Lucy. At 16, I was busy learning how to drink as much and as fast as possible. Your route sounds much more productive!
Welcome!

thanks everybody, but its not that big a deal.. and intelligence wise...
anybody who has seen me out on the weekend would probably say i have little if none actual 'intelligence'..

and yes, the have a touch rugby world cup
and last year(october 2003), my school team from here(singapore) went to brisbane, australia for the world school touch rugby championships for the first time.. there will hundreds and hundreds of teams but in our category(womens under 20) there were about 40 teams.. it was the best week away ever! we got sponsorship from Philips, left on a wednesday night, acclimitised on thursday(light run).. and then we had the tournament friday, saturday and sunday.. we then spent the next couple of days on the gold coast shopping etc, visiting amusement parks.. basically doing what you would expect a girls touch rugby team from high school to be doing after world champs...most of them have graduated now though as i was the youngest on the team.. there are only 5 of us left from the world champs '03 team..... its every 2 years and we are hoping to go to them in 2005
