Subject: Switching off

I can not switch off,  Im currently in my off season but old habits die hard.

If someone passes me on the bike, I have to get aero.

If i get passed swimming in the lanes, I will stream behind and beat them to the wall ect ect.

Anybody had similar experiences and over came them?

I keep doing that when running.  I someone passes, I try to stay with them.  It can really ruin a recovery run.  At least on the bike I know I'm too slow to keep up with the kid that passed me.

I went for a casual ride (50km) with my mate on the weekend.  He went to pass me to be side by side and i slipped down a gear and went again.

The problem has got worse now the season has finished, but its re-assuring to find other members who are competitive every minute on the day.

There is no "switching off" - maybe standby or sleep mode, but never off......
