Subject: RE: TriAmerica Clearlake June 14-15 I saw a thread on ST where the race director was asking opinions of the distances. It appears that he's trying to do the 101 thing, sort of, by developing a standard for his races. Where I see the difference is that these distances, though unconventional, will appeal to many. By offering a super sprint, a long sprint and a longer than oly, he hits everything from the beginner to a sprint racer who might like to try something a little longer to the longer distance athlete. His distances make more sense to me than the 101 series did and will have a broader appeal. And, I think he's smart by just doing his thing without trying to create a new standard in the sport.
