Subject: Good bike shop in the Plainville/Foxboro area?

Just got my Javelin Parma (thanks Bear)... but the LBS I brought it to didn't do such a good job. The guy had no idea how to do a fitting and I don't think the shift levers are in right. I had to figure out seat height myself and I don't think I have it right.

Gotta get this so I can at least settle forward without crushing the boys.

I live in North Attleboro and best fitting place around is Grace Bicycles in Holliston. It is about 20 minutes away. None of the local bike stores do fitting other than Union Cycle in Attleboro and they do a very primitive method.

Thanks, just sent them an email about a Basic fitting. Wish I had sent my bike to these guys to be assembled, too, rather than where I had it done.

Just came from Grace Bicycles. Roy spent an hour and a half with me, explaining road bike concepts, taking measurements, fitting the bike, showing me proper riding stance. He had no problem with my two sons being in the shop while we did it. Nice guy.

I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone. I'll go back. Thanks, Kathy, I owe you a drink for the recommendation.

Glad to hear it went well...you'll be amazed how comfy your bike feels now or in a hundred miles or so.

I'm so dialed into my fit I can tell my my seat is .3 of an inch off in height...weird...but good.

He was so good I may have to go back to buy my younger son's bike there next week. Kid outgrew his first bike.

When I said I had been referred by a local tri person that also goes to the Hock Y he mentioned that you had said you'd be sending someone over... so maybe he'll toss you a coffee or something for the referral.

I agree. Roy at Grace Bicycles has been helpful to me too.
