6-8 hours a night.  Any less and I have to take a nap.

8 hours minimum or I get cranky!

re: Aliengin's caffeine use

Aliengin, you're probably robbing yourself of some of the ergogenic benefits of caffeine on race day by habituating to it daily. You get a lot more boost on raceday when you don't use caffeine every day/workout

Then again, you gots to stay awake at work!

5 To 6 hours and I wake up once or twice for water! I rather stay asleep thought. But it's better to wake up for a bottle of water beside the bed instead of walking to the bathroom!

6-8 hours.  I have some apnea issues and don't always feel like I am getting "quality" sleep hours in.

On a related note, I almost never take naps.  On the rare occasion that I do, I usually feel really great.  If I could figure how to do that during my normal working day, I might become a regular "power" napper!!

Any of you regular nap takers??

Danny

I usually get 7-9, though I'm much happier the closer I am to 9 hours. Any less than 7 and my usefulnesss the next day is nil. I drink near a gallon of water a day, but almost never get up in the middle of the night. My secret? I drink most of it during the day. My water consumption goes way down once I get off of work. And I always go to the bathroom twice (you know, once a half hour before, once last thing before I hop in bed) before bed to be sure the tank is empty. I'm very blessed in that I seem to be able to fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.

I am right at 7 every night. Rarely have a bathroom break. I probably wake up about 1 - 2 times per night. Usually hand falls asleep or cat clawing at my arm.

7-9 hours during the week, 9-11 on the weekends. Less and I can't function and train. I don't know how the 6/nt people can do it!?

I'm around 6 or 7.  Sometimes have a bathroom break if I've had a cup of herbal tea in the evening.  Sometimes 3 year old daughter wants to climb in.
