Any body else doing the HIM on May 17th?

I plan to sign up tomorrow.

Need to know about how cold the water is and do I need a wet suit? Where can I get one? Can you rent them?

I'm either doing the Muncie Endurathon or the Headfirst Performance/Cardinal Harbor race in July, so I don't plan on doing the Taylorsville race this.

I did the Aqua-Bike option of that race last year.  The water was fairly chilly.  However, I do recall several people swimming without wetsuits, but I was certainly happy to have mine that day.

It seems as though I've heard some people mention using this service, http://www.wetsuitrental.com.  Although I've never used them so I cannot vouch for them, but at least it will give you a start.

As far as your nutritional plan goes, I'm probably the last person to ask, but it looks fairly reasonable it terms of the number of calories/hour for both the bike and the run portions.  More importantly, have you practiced or will you have a chance to practice that plan before the race to know how you will respond?  You might considering posting questions of this nature in the "Iron Distance" forum, or search for previous posts of similar nature.

Last year the Taylorsville race had one aid station with water and Heed (Hammer product) at roughly the halfway mark of the bike course.  I'm not sure what they offered during run.  I wouldn't be afraid to contact Todd or Cynthia at Headfirst Performance to ask about that.  They are both very friendly.
