Anybody racing today!

I'm going downtown to run the "Hangover Handicap Run" in Klamath Falls, OR. It's a 2.35 mile run on icy streets. I'll talk to you after its over.

Hey, this post makes me a veteran. Cool!

Randy

I did a 5K this morning. Just a fun run, not a serious race. I'll post a report later. It really WAS fun, and fortunately the weather was mild.

I just got back from the "Hangover Handicap Race". To my surprise, I won the thing.

2.35 miles in 13:20 something = 5:40 pace

I have been running 2 to 3 times a week along with swimming and biking. I never expected to catch the leader with about 300m to go. I started out kinda medium pace, and then after a mile picked off the young wipper snapper high school kids, then the leader was about 1/2 block ahead.

The roads were slicker than ever with snow and ice. I hit the sidewalk on the way back down main street and slowly caught the leader who chose to run on the streets. I don't know why. I blasted past him and never looked back.

I recieved a beer can trophy, consisting of a empty can, runner on top, with a nice base.

What a way to start the year.

Talk later,
Randy

Fun local race this morning- got my family out of bed to do the "walk" part- nice sunny day streets a bit messy- but temps great for Jan-Last year this was my "baseline"- what can I do from nothing run- so I was curious to see what todays time was-beat last years by almost 3 minutes- but could have been faster- should have cuz I came in 2nd in my age group- would have been a nice start to win the thing!
Happy New Year!
