I just got back from the "Hangover Handicap Race" downtown Klamath Falls. To my surprise, I won the thing.

2.35 miles in 13:20 something = 5:40 pace

I have been running 2 to 3 times a week along with swimming and biking. The training cross over must be pretty good. I never expected to catch the leader with about 300m to go. I started out kinda medium pace and then after a mile picked off the young wipper snappers high school kids. The leader was about 1/2 block ahead.

The roads were slicker than ever with snow and ice. I hit the dry sidewalk on the way back down main street and slowly caught the leader who chose to run on the icy streets. I don't know why? I blasted past him and never looked back.

I recieved a beer can trophy, consisting of a empy can, runner on top, with a nice base.

What a way to start the year and give my training motivation a boost.

Talk later,
Randy
