I don't believe they are allowed. The water last year was like 81 degrees I was told.

plus if its that warm, USAT rules state

"Each age group participant shall be permitted to wear a wetsuit without penalty in any event sanctioned by USA Triathlon up to and including a water temperature of 78 degrees Fahrenheit. When the water temperature is greater than 78 degrees but less than 84 degrees Fahrenheit, age group participants may wear a wetsuit at their own discretion, provided, however that participants who wears a wetsuit within such temperature range shall not be eligible for prizes or awards. Above 84 degrees, wetsuits are prohibited."

They are allowed by the USAT rules. Last year was too warm so almost no one used one. There was a final special wave of a few folks with them on, if I recall correctly.

People have been saying that with the extra long and cold winter this year, there's a decent chance that wetsuits will be race legal. Who knows what the next month holds though.

Gray's Lake is still pretty cold. We swam there this morning. The water temperature in Copper Creek Lake (http://www.coppercreektri.com) in nearby Pleasant Hill is currently 63 degrees and wetsuits will be allowed there next week.

We should be in there again later this week. I will see if I can check the temperature.
