Review it briefly please.

Wife and I starting to get out more (thank you babysitter) and we love movies. What's good out there now?

Most recent for me was (DON'T LAUGH) ...Made of Honor (Mothers Day, her pick)....pretty much what you'd expect. Not terrible. So guys, if your SO picks it, it isn't the end of the world. (and just ignore your SO as she drools over Patrick Dempsey)

Also saw "What happens in Vegas"....Not bad....good rental.

Next is MY PICK.....WOO HOO!!!!

Any suggestions ???????????????

Just saw IronMan over the weekend.  Every bit as good as the reviews have built it to be.  A bit predictable in the plotline, but every superhero story is that way.  Special Effects were really well done and Robert Downey Jr actually provided a decent performance.

I also saw Forgetting Sarah Marshall recently.  It was pretty good if you're comfortable with the sex jokes and full-frontal male nudity.

I saw IronMan and thought it was pretty good. I've never seen the comic book so I had no expectations about the story or character. I thought the movie did a good job of telling a story.

x2 For Forgetting Sarah Marshall. The female leads are hot and the full frontal male nudity is great for the gals. My wife and I laughed the entire movie. The sarcasm was great and it was well written for a modern comedy.

Also, my wife rented 27 Dresses.  Total predictable chick flick but I've set through worse.  It had some funny parts to keep it interesting.

Just saw Prince Caspian yesterday. A good one. Edgy for the kids, nice for me and my wife.

That's the most "recent" movie I've seen. But the movie I've seen most recently? We watched "The Jazz Singer" last night. Great vocals...

Saw "Baby Mamma" this weekend with my 13 year old.

Hardly Oscar material, but a fun comedy. Better than I expected.

In theatres "Baby Mama" - yes, I am not ashamed to admit I saw it. It was actually pretty cute. But I also love Amy Poehler/Tina Fey.

On DVD - my weirdo roommate who has the WORST taste in Netflix films I've ever seen, rented 'La Vie En Rose' - the french film about Edith Piaf - the chick who played her won the Oscar this year. Kinda weird, but it was a French film and Edith Piaf was also kind of weird. It wasn't that bad - she was quite good, and I like the one song they kept using throughout (Hymn a l'amour or maybe it's hymn de l'amour - something like that). It's just funny b/c the roommie keeps renting french films and complaining that they're weird, or have too much nudity and sex. I keep telling her that if you don't want weird, overtly sexualized films, DON'T rent French films!!! Le sigh...

Movies I watched this weekend:

Sweeney Todd (Tim Burton version) - good adaptation of the musical.  Pretty bloody, so avoid if that kind of thing makes you squeamish.  My husband was not prepared for the fact that it's a musical and they sing to advance the plot.

Dungeon Siege - bad bad bad.  Apparently some kind of action/fantasy thing.  Plot was weak, so was the acting.

Prince Caspian - yes, it departed from the book, but so do all movies based on books.  I liked it.  The action scenes were pretty good, although it's kind of funny that there's never blood on the swords (yeah Disney!

I think the last movie I saw at the theater was Brokeback Mountain...

but the next movie I will see will be Sex and The City!

I hate going to the movies, I only go when I really really really want to see something.

Juno. Rented it last night. I was surprised it did so well because it had a lot of dry humor, and not a lot of potty jokes, although a few. I recommend it.

Hot Fuzz. Saw it on cable. It was good, but it was below Juno. Satire of bad cop buddy movies that kind of turns into a bad cop buddy movie at the end, although that was part of the satire.

SO doesn't like *going to the movies*, so the kids pick the ones I go to. With my guidance, of course, otherwise we'd go see stuff like Balls of Fury.

Last one seen was Ironman this past weekend, next one will be the new Indy Jones.

At the movie theater?  Sadly I think it was Blades of Glory.  I never go to the movies.

At home it was Alvin and the Chipmunks.  Not bad if you're a group of 7 year old Girl Scouts.  As for adult movies I just watched part of No Country for Old Men.  I think i was surfing BT while I watched and I got totally lost at some point.  Then I got to see the beginning and end of Into the Wild and it looked SO good.  I was on my way to a girl's night out when DH rented it.  My friend ended up being tired and we came home early so I saw the end.

Horton Hears a Who.  I suck, it has been forever since I have seen a movie that is not geared toward children.  At least Horton was cute!

Last movie in a theater= Persepolis (great film).  Watched The Diving Bell and The Butterfly last week, also liked it although it is not a really 'uplifting' film.  It is a true story, however.  Last night we caught Knocked Up again, which is funny.  I can't wait for Sex and the City!!!!
