Friggen hilarious.  Absolutely hilarious.  This almost reads like something out of the Onion.

Awwww, don't you feel sorry for the poor, downtrodden little communists?

That is really funny.

Standard politician hot air. Politicians do the same damn thing here whenever the chance to get in front of TV cameras presents itself.

Do they know it's a movie and not a documentary?

"Harrison Ford and Cate Blanchette (are) second-rate actors, serving as the running dogs of the CIA.  We need to deprive these people of the right of entering the country," said another party member, Andrei Gindos.

You can't make this stuff up.  Seriously.  Someone get caught in a time warp and get transported back to the early 80's?

Russia is in the middle of a very sensitive political time period right now... they could very easily tip right back into a USSR type state. They're not joking.

VERY VERY VERY VERY TINY INSIGNIFICANT ALMOST-NOT-WORTH-MENTIONING POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT:

At the very beginning of the movie when they are in the warehouse, the camera flashes over a half-open box for a second. Inside is something gold and shiny...was that supposed to be the Ark of the Covenant?

I remember at the end of Raiders, the Ark was placed in a box in a warehouse that looked very much like the one at the beginning of this movie...

The movie was set in the 50's.  I guess they were using the Russians, FBI questioning patriotism, to emulate the McCarthy era.

Yes, it was the Ark.  Very obvious that the warehouse was the same place where they stored it in Raiders.

Yup.  I caught that immediately.  Also that they are setting it up for Shia LeBouf to take over as the next Indiana Jones.

SPOILER ALERT:

Commenting on something else, the typical music of Peru is not Mexican music, but aren't all Spanish people Mexicans?

There ARE differences between the Mayans, Aztecs and Incas (or even Nazca Indians)!

Nazca is not in Cuzco!

I know it's fiction, but if real names and places are going to be depicted (or references made), they can at least be somewhat accurate, especially if it's a movie in which the main character is an archeologist/professor.

Guys, do not get all excited! I'm Russian/Ukrainian and I know for a fact that very few people take Russian Communist party seriously, may be some old people. MSNBC must have ran out of some real stories to report

"however," said Perov, "all that stuff about Nazis was totally true."

Having just read "Armageddon" by Uris, I am amused by the comment by Perov that says, "Together with America we defeated the Nazis."  And then tried to strong arm the U.S. out of Berlin.  heh.

How dare U.S. citizens make fun of Communism! There's no reason for such a thing! They have no right! This sets a terrible precedent! What's next, portraying Communists as whiny, attention seeking nutjobs?! Saying things like "Communism doesn't work!?!" We must use all of the power of the state to prevent these people from speaking!

Oh please, Harrison Ford can smuggle an old man, a boy, and two droids past an Imperial blockade. What chance does Russian border patrol have?

This thread has become an insult to the Empire. They gloriously captured the criminal Ford's ship in a tractor beam. If not for a suicide mission by a deluded member of his crew, they would have been successfully rehabilitated into productive members of society. Just because the cowardly Rebels sacrificed an old man to further their evil ambitions should not mean we elevate Harrison Ford above the peace loving Empire.

Plus he can outrun boulders the size of a house and outwit the Nazi SS over and over.

I would swear he used to be POTUS and killed a bunch of Russian terrorists, too. Maybe that's why they don't like him.
