Subject: Changing gears on a bike
How do I change gears on a cyclocross bike to resemble road bike gears? is it something i can do on my own or do i need a bike shop to do it for me? Anything special tools or materials needed? thanks for all the help

Front chainrings- depends on how they attach to the crank, should be pretty easy. Unless you want to convert a double to a triple, or vice versa, which could require a new bottom bracket spindle.

Rear cogs- depends on your rear hub- is it a freehub or does it take threaded freewheels? If it's a freehub, you should be able to replace individual gears. If it takes a threaded freewheel, you will probably need to get a new freewheel and spin it on. This will require a freewheel removal tool (again, depends on the type of freewheel).

Can you post a photo of the drivetrain or provide a little more info on your setup?
