I got the Team Javelin uniform and I got a XL Tri Top and I have a heck of a time putting it on Dry ( I wear XL in all other athletic and non Athletic clothes). So I exchanged it for a XXL Tri Suit (they were out of XXL Tri Tops) and it is the same story.

I look and feel like a freaken sausage with this thing on (my wife laughed pretty hard). How tight are these things supposed to be? I still have the tags on them so I do not know if the water will make them a little looser. .

Well, this year, I'll be wearing a local tri club tri top for one race and it's too dang short..barely covers my belly. Tri clothes are for peeps who have no vanity! --well at least for those who are not built like hot chix or dudes

If you think your outfit is tight...check this wetsuit out that I've got to wear in August... Nice hinder - HA!!! Its so tight that if I sit... I may split my buttage area! AKA SausageLady!

I've gone from an XL to a M. Not thinking, I wore my Craft tri top in a recent sprint...it got so loose that the pockets on the back filled with water and acted as scoops. That sure helped my speed.

In many cases, tighter is better.

I think we need pictures to judge exactly how tight too tight is.

As for myself... I know my new tri shorts are too tight... because it produced SUPER CAMEL TOE for me in them. Gotta go back. Camel toe is a no go.

Yep, I call my Javelin suits the sausage skin as well. I have a hard time getting the older 2pc top on but the 1pc is much easier.

It should be form-fitting and hug your skin but not be so tight as to restrict movement. Loose-fitting clothing can be one of the biggest causes of drag on the bike and in the water, so close-fitting clothing is a must. Just how tight is too tight is likely subjective, but I think it has less to do with how it actually looks in the mirror; let comfort be your guide and forget about how you look. That's what kids are for - to remind you how ridiculous you appear and please don't wear that out in public and...

It depends on your height and girth!  I'm 6 feet tall, weigh between 200 and 208, with a 44 inch chest and wear an XL comfortably.

Everytime I get new tri clothes they get too loose in no time. What is very tight now may be just right by the end of the season. I hate the feeling of my top flapping on the bike, so I prefer snug tri clothes.

Mauricio, I can just barely get my top over my head and shoulders.  Jamie laughed at me the first time she saw me in it too.

I have noticed that it seems to loosen up a little bit when wet.  I've trained it in once and raced once.  Either I'm getting more comfortable, or it is.  Either way, I'm starting to like it more.

Since they are different brands, it might react differently.

I would say you want it as tight as possible so there is less drag but if you can't breath it is no good.
