Well I built up my first tri specific bike.

Here's a parts list

500 - Original bike from shop
60 - Profile Design T2+ bars w/ carbon arm rests
50 - Dura Ace Shifters
26 - SRAM Chain
? - Cables
10 - Carbon Breaks
25 - Vision Base Bar
35 - Felt TT Saddle
15 - Aero Bottle
20 - Profile Design Cages
10 - Bar Tape

It's definitely a miss match of brands. I bought some off ebay, some from the team deal at the shop, and some out of the classified section here.

The wheels on it now are off of my Jamis road bike. I'm putting the wheels that originally came on the trek on my Jamis and selling that to a friend for 300.

Yes it's a 10 year old frame. But it's still lighter and much more aero then my Jamis I had. I can tell it's a much smoother ride. The frame has spent many years sitting around so it's nearly mint, very good condition.

And honestly, it looks awesome. It really draws people's attention, and I'll get questions about it at many races.

A friend of mine and myself spent about 5 hours re cabling and putting the bike together. He has the blue Y-Foil in one of the pictures, which probably hit the 100,000 mile mark last year. He has a 10,000 dollar Calfee road bike too, but he usually just rides the Trek

I got really lucky with finding the bike for so cheap too. They kind of have a cult following around them I've noticed. They only made them for a couple years so they're very rare.

The picture in front of the garage door is the most recent. I had to take my carbon seat post off and put on one that will get me at a better seat angle.

Anyway, just thought I would share I'm in love with it!

That is indeed cool. Very different. Reminds me of the Softrides that were popular several years ago. Still see quite a few of them out there. I have never seen that model of Trek before.

Hey everyone thanks for the complements!

It feels really smooth because of the beam, especially when I set back and upright more. It is also a very aero design.

I am not sure what the weight is, maybe a little more then I would like. But then again the components are low end and a little older.

And I actually really like the seat angle like that :p It is very comfortable. I did 50 miles on it last Saturday with no soreness at all.

Seat angle like that has nothing to do with soreness ..... and everything to do with a poor fit.  Sorry to be blunt .... but your seat should never be below level.  If it is, there is something wrong with your overall positioning ......

The reasoning is simple.  Angled down, your body will always be sliding forward.  I don't care how imperceptable it is, your core will ALWAYS be fighting to balance your body and push back into the saddle.  This wears your upper body/core out and becomes a detriment to performance as well as setting yourself up for potential injuries and undue stresses on the body.

In all my years of fitting someone to a bike I have never "allowed" them to get away with that.  There is an underlying issue with your position if you have to do that to accommodate the bike.  And with a name like "ipull400watts" one would assume some decent knowledge and experience on a bike and one would expect you to know better!!

Ah but no decent knowledge or experience on a tri bike! :p

I'll fix it soon. It's been raining all day so I won't be able to take the bike out Actually it's been raining for about three days now that I think of it.
