Subject: Let's do this! I'm Erin, and I'm a beginner...about 1/2 way through training for my first sprint. I'm training with my brother and I'm so excited about training together-He's a great example! I'm excited about challenging and encouraging each other.
I'm a college student, so my weaknesses are not spending time to eat really healthy and not always being as disciplined as a should be. Somewhere on BT I read that we should view our training times as appointments-just as important as going to the doctor or something-and that's what I've got to do.
My other BIG motivation is that my career goal is to work with the homeless, and I really don't want to be a quitter. I want to be able to stick out tough times in that profession. So I do this for them-so that I don't ever quit on them, to make some of my homeless friends proud who have challenged me to work hard, and to not be lazy just because I can be but work as hard as any person in poverty would have to in order to escape where they are-HARD! I just can't be a quitter...I'm training because tri is such a fun sport and can keep me healthy, but also as a means to develop determination.
SORRY SO LONG!
Excited for everyone here doing this and all the encouragement,
Erin |
