Sunny
Total Time = 1h 09m 27s
Overall Rank = 14/314
Age Group = 40-44
Age Group Rank = 3/26
Pre-race routine:

Woke up early and ate a waffle with peanut butter and a mix shake. Put the bike on the car and headed to Bennett. Got there at 4:45. Set up Transition on an end spot and then drove the bike course.
Event warmup:

Biked 20 minutes with Scott and Dime. Ran 10 with Dime and Dave. Went pee and got to the start line.
Run
  • 14m 6s
  • 2.5 miles
  • 05m 38s  min/mile
Comments:

Started out pretty hard to stay up with the lead 5 guys. Was passed on the second lap by a fast runner, but not a good cyclist. The lead pack pulled away by about 30-45 seconds so I ran alone just keeping an eye on them. Ran pretty well on this run.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Transition 1
  • 00m 41s
Comments:

Good transition, I saw Dime head out and knew I was ok. Dime beat me here by 1 second. That's cool.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Bike
  • 38m 31s
  • 15.5 miles
  • 24.15 mile/hr
Comments:

Had a decent bike but wanted to put time in on Dime and Scott. I caught them at the turn around and kept pushing. Scott surged at about mile 9 and I could not stay with him. Wanted to now put distance between myself and Dime. Tried a surge but he held on. I knew he would beat me on the secnod run. The wind coming back was very strong and killed the high average I had going out. Super fast going out.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. Gave it all I had.
Transition 2
  • 00m 31s
Comments:

Got put on the run before Dime but knew it was only a matter of time before he roared by me. He did at eh 1/4 mile mark.
What would you do differently?:

nothing.
Run
  • 15m 39s
  • 2.5 miles
  • 06m 16s  min/mile
Comments:

This run was very slow. I had nothing left and was just trying to hang on for 3rd. I knew I could hold off 4th place guy and I did. Ran as hard as I could but there was no power in the legs.
What would you do differently?:

Train more.
Post race
Warm down:

Ran for about10 minutes with Dave, Dime and Scott. F4 head coach.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not enoogh running and recovering from a marathon. So it was to be expected.

Event comments:

Fun race. F4 coaches swept the podium in our agegroup, and it was a tough one. GOt another beer glass! COngrats to Dime and Dave for kicking my ass today. I will be ready here soon to haul ass at tri's! Good to see peto primo, meg and others at this tough, fun race!

The next tri we're all doing isn't until 5430 Long.  Can't wait to see what everyone does in full tri mode.  I'm sure you'll be stomping as usual.  When are we gonna get the crew together for a long hard ride?
