I'm curious as to see which discipline the majority of people will chose as their strongest.  I'm thinking most people will say biking but that's just a guess.

Hey, there is no option for neither one, haha! Seriously, I am really average at all three. Swimming, I'm slow, biking I'm kinda slow, and running I am really slow at the end of swimming + biking.

Swimming is actually my strong event. I come out of the water in pretty good position and then lose it all in the bike and run, especially the run.

I'm definitely strongest in the swim.  Comparatively, I suck at the bike, and am not so hot on the run.  Big goal for this year is to bring my bike and run rankings a little bit closer to my swim!!

Another swimmer here. Or at least it was when I started tri training.

Swimming is the sport I know the best and that I keep going back to throughout my life, but is not necessarily my favourite leg in the race.  I've come to love the running most during the training and the biking most during the racing, though neither are particularily strong.

No question running is my strongest leg. Coming from running marathons for the past 8 years or so, and average yearly mileage near 1500 miles it's definitely the most enjoyable for me. I'd gladly swap some of my running knowledge for swimming advice Chris

GatorGirl,

I saw a great shirt at a race last weekend.  Real big, on the back it said "I'm slow. I know. Get over it!"  I saw several of these shirts and thought....I neeeeeed one of those!!

Like Chris, I come from a running/marathoning background, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that cycling is my strongest leg. Swimming is the weakest, but it's the one I plan to work on the most.

I choose swimming... i feel i am strong in both the swim and bike and get KILLED on the run... i think the only reason i feel strong in the swim cause people are great swimmers and i am an ok swimmer so i have a little bit of an edge, the bike i do pretty well.... but then the run comes and everyone i passed in the water and on the bike fly by me on the run....

god i need run help..

I'm definitely much better in the swim than the other 2.  Bike and run fight with one another constantly for worst of the 3.

I've been a cyclist for over 40 years so that is my strong leg.  However, I have been improving greatly in my swim leg.  Next, I have to concentrate on my running, which has slowed immensely in the last few years.

I haven't done a Tri yet.., but I will probably be better at the swim since I swam when I was younger. But I tell ya', I have to admit it, I like running now! (Oh no, I said it!)

Come from swimming background (11 years as a summer-leaguer).  And although I feel like I'm hardly crushing in the pool, in my only race; 'twas my best leg (probably cuz I sucked more at the other two, not cuz I'm "better" at the swim.

My mantra now is: volume, volume, volume.

Now, should the poll read "favorite leg" or "strongest leg" as in my case, the two are NOT equivalent.

Man, you just want everyone to see more of that gross avatar!

Good to see so many swimmers, I guess we come out of the woodwrok on polls like this.  What's pitiful is the swim is my strongest, then I go to Masters swim and I am usually the slowest or second slowest in that class.  All in perspective I guess

Run sucks, cycling, sucks, but working on 'em!

Swimming is the easiest for me and probably my strongest if you compare my times to others in my age group. I say probably because I am not the fastest swimmer in the pool, but for very little effort, I am still faster than the majority.

The disadvantage of this is that for most people, they get out of the pool and heave a big sigh of relief because their worst part is over. For me it is the opposite. It gets progressively worse with each leg. Although when I started doing tris, biking was my weakest, now it is the run. I cut back on the amount of running because of adding the other two disciplines (especially biking) into my schedule. Then I started getting all sorts of overuse injuries from running. I thought I was back on schedule and then the hip thing happened. Now I guess running will always be my weakest leg.

I am strongest on the bike, getting much better at running and I am still very, very slow swimming.

Bike for me. In my first and only tri so far I came out the water first in the last group of about 5. I was able to pass about 30 to 40 other triathletes on the bike but got overtaken by about 5 of them on the run. I think this year I'm going to be much stronger on the run but I have long ways to go with the swim.

Have not done my 1st yet but at least in training - I am comfortable on the bike. I am not a good swimmer -- and am working but expect to be far behind after the swim. I have just started really trying to run distances for this so...
