Subject: Montclair Tri

I was thinking about signing up for this one. Looks like it is a bit shorter than years past.

For those that have done it before, do you think it would be a good for a noob OWS (i.e complete noob, haven't done any ows yet...)?

I can't speak for the new course, but I used to do a lot of my open water training at Montclair before I moved. The lake will be very warm by July and it is very easy to sight since there are plenty of houses at the end of the lake to use as guides. Dolphin Beach (swim start of the first Montclair tri) is also sandy and pretty easy to get into.

I signed up for it and I think I will have to go over and check out the bike/run course. I've heard it is really hilly.......

Ok, so I went over to Montclair yesterday to check out the bike and run course. I do have to say that there are a lot of rolling hills. I was so beat after the bike that was very slow going over the run course.
