Subject: New to Garmin..HELP
Finally shelled out the big bucks for the new 405 with heart rate. I have never owned a Garmin before so have nothing to compare it to. My question is when you are running and want to know what your heart rate is do you have to tap the bezel?? I was interested in knowing my heart rate AND pace at the same time. Is this not possible? Seems to be 2 different data fields. Is the 305 like this as well?

It is recommended to lock the bezel when you run, but then how do you check your different data fields?

Sorry for dumb questions but I am possibly the least technologically savvy person out there!

The 305 has multiple displays for each sport.  You can choose to have up to 4 different data types displayed on each display.  You can then have the displays automatically rotate or display the default and go to the others but pressing the button on the side.  For running I have a DISPLAY 1 = time, distance, pace, HR, DISPLAY 2 = Lap pace, Avg lap, Avg pace, Display 3 = HR

Check out the manual, I'm sure you can program the 405 to display what you want.

I have no experience with the 405, but I know on the 305 you can customize the screens. I imagine you can do the same with the 405. It might not display quite as much though, due to the smaller screen size.
