I've been to the wind tunnel three times for testing and to watch testing. One thing I've learned for certai is that you can't tell much about the "aerodynamic-ness" of a position by visual inspection.

Aerodynamics is a mysterious thing...

Post this on Slowtwitch. I am sure you will get more information than you want, some good some bad! FWIW It looks pretty good to me, maybe a little stretched out, but that is how I am set up and I am comfortable that way.

I know it comes across like a cliche, but your seat does look too high. Seriously. And it might be that this is a static shot, so your heel is lower than it normally would when riding under power.

I used to grip my aero bars at the end like you. My LBS had me slide my hands back down the aero bars a bit so I wasn't as stretched out. Simple adjustment might work for you as well.

to be honest...it almost looks like the bike is too big for you.

You seat looks too high.  And if you lower your seat, its gonna be almost below your bars by the looks of it.  You also look too extended on the bars.  Furthering my thinking that the top tube is too long.

A little off subject, but how do you like the bike?  I'm deployed with the military but I have the same one waiting at home.

I'm by no means an expert, and Tom Demerly's point is well-taken, but here's my assessment:

1. Elbows are too far forward (as others said, you're too stretched out)

2. The guy who says your seat looks too high may be right. There doesn't appear to be much of a bend in your left knee. You might want to lower it just a touch. Maybe not. It doesn't look too bad.

3. Your back is good and flat.

How comfortable are you in this position? Does it affect your power?

First of all thanks for all the comments. To give short answers to the questions.

1) Love the ride, speed, and hadling of the bike. 2) I am comfortable in this postion but I am very flexible and I am not sure If I am losing power by being (stretched out). 3) I too feel the top tube may be a tad long and the bike a size big.

Would these adjustments be a good starting point.

1. Lower seat a little

2. Adjust aero bars as far back as possible

3. Shoter Stem

You could do all of those.  +  You could also try moving the seat forward.  Not sure how much of the rails you have left.

What size stem do you have?

In my non-expert opinion, you seem to have hit the nail on the head.

Have you ridden the setup yet?

My suggestion.... go ride. Bring a multitool. After you ride for 15 minutes, move the seat down like 1-2cm . Ride some more.. see how it feels. Might have to move the seat forward some too if you can.

If you have a shorter stem, might want to throw that on at home before you leave... or for the next day's ride and compare.

But I agree with the previous posts. Seat looks a tad high, and arms a tad stretched. But its static... and as stated, I bet your heels dont normally ride that low.

Agree with these.  Being too stretched forward is what is making me see the visual ear and elbow alignment (from talking to my fitter).  There's a lot of geometry that needs to be looked at, and when one "tweaks" one setting area (the seat), it rearranges other geometric points.

My suggestion - please, get fitted by someone who does it.  It's money well spent.
