Well I only weighed in a 1/2 pound less which is better than I thought I'd do. I think I'm going to take Paul's advice and check out these nutrition logs to make me more accountable.

I'm down 4 pounds, but I'm thinking some of it is just water weight. I'm down 15 in the past 2 months, but prior to about last week I was just eating less of the food that was bad for me. I've come to realized that eating healthy makes it a lot easier to stick with it because you can eat more food for the same number of calories.

Congrats to those on their way down!!

I'm the same

Took a fall on Sunday = no exercise and bad eating!  But today I'm going for my first bike/run brick and if my shoulder is okay by Sunday, I'm going to do my first tri even if I come in DFL!!!  Might have to do a one arm side stroke ha ha

Good luck to everyone!

Great distinction Matt. I never looked at it that way but I do like your thinking. Thanks for that.

PS I'm posting weight tomorow.

Well, for me at least, portion control has always been my biggest problem. I like to eat til I am full. In the past when i've tried to drop weight i tried to just eat less and I can't deal with being hungry. Doing it how I am now allows me to be comfortably full around meals and still have a fairly large calorie deficit. I am trying to drop the weight now because I have planned my frist tri for october and I know once my training ramps up I'm going to need more calories then I am getting now.

I've been having trouble getting to the gym to use the scale (I'm still working out, just not at the gym!) so I bit the bullet and bought one...150lbs on the button...136lbs here I come!!!

My secret weapon seems to be meal planning. Provided I plan out what I'm going to eat throughout the day I seem to deal with my craving quite well - in fact I have way fewer cravings because I know exactly what I'm having for my next meal/snack...which is never too far away anyway. Here's a quick run down of today's meal plan...

Breakfast (5:00am):
Quaker instant oatmeal (apple & cinnamon)
1cup skim milk
Grapes

Morning snack (9:00am):
2 rice cakes with peanut butter
Nectarine

Lunch (12:00pm):
Turkey wrap with spinach, cheese and honey mustard
Spinach salad with feta cheese instead of dressing

Afternoon snack (3:00pm):
1/4 cup of bran buds
3/4 cup of vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup mixed berries

Dinner (6:00pm):
Chicken fajitas
1 cup milk

Night time snack (8:00pm):
2 cups of Smart Pop Popcorn

This pretty much is the routine everyday - except I'll swap out different foods - for example, I'll have whole wheat crackers instead of rice cakes, or a tuna wrap instead of a turkey wrap, or carrots, celery and sliced peppers instead of a spinach salad. Oh, and dinner is never the same twice in one week. I'm finding this type of set up allows me to vary my diet while maintaining a similar caloric/nutrient intake. I log my daily food intake with Fitday which provides the carbs/fat/protien ratio as well as the breakdown of nutrients as a % of the recommended daily intake so I've been pretty successful at keeping everything constant while making substitutions in the types of food I'm eating.

This works well as long as I do the cooking...if my husband gets into the kitchen I know dinner is going to be jam packed with extra fats/oils and sugars! Once I take off these extra lbs teaching him to cook lean with be my next project

Well, that was much more than I had planned to post, but just thought I would share what works for me!

OK Kids....Finally got to the club to weigh in today, late in the day and all. 162.8, down 1 pound from last week. I'll take it, considering I have really not watched intake all week.

Good to hear from everyone else out there, keep up the good work.

I really suck at keeping track of theses forums, so my posts might be few and far between (I'm much to busy watching my nutrition )
Little about me, 22 years young, second year of tri'ing. I have always been active, to a point, but I have been under tons of stress lately, with school and work. I may have ballooned up by about 20 pounds in the last year, which is not good
I haven't done a weight lose challenge, so I am really hoping to have some success with this, its very encouraging to have a group of people all striving for the same goal. And especially seeing the results to date is very motivating. Personally I am only down .8 pounds but I feel fantastic and I think I look better, which is what I think its all about. Plus my body fat% is down a couple points, so thats good news.

Keep it up everyone, only a couple more weeks left

BTW, I have 2 tri's coming up in August, one on the 2nd an sprint. And the other on the 30th, a half ironman, which I think I am over my head in (just the swimming) but if I didn't like challenges, I wouldn't be tri'ing

I was on holiday last week, I ate lots of traditional Scottish fare... fish and chips, ice cream, scampi, squid, mackrel, scallops in bacon and cream! In addition to that I also drank almost every night which is something I haven't done for months. As a real change I stopped eating when I was full, sometimes leaving half a plateful and, when possible, I went for a run - which was pretty hard on a diving holiday when your often diving at 8am due to tides constraints. I also go straight back into it, the result ..... I lost 1lb. I'm really pleased. This time I've really cracked it and am so focussed. I've now lost 40 1/2lbs since my heaviest weight this year and I am 3 1/2lbs from the 200lbs barrier which is a really big challenge for me! I am so, so, pleased.

Current weight 203 1/2 lb

Hey all,

Sorry for the delayed post, but I got to weigh myself yesterday and I'm down to 190.2! I'm very excited because this was a particularly stressful week, and normally, I'm a stress eater. However, I really tried to stay focused on good food choices at that seemed to be the difference.

I'm gonna be away this week so no weigh in til I get back but judging by the emotional/stress eating of the past week - I'd say I'm up eek!  Will treat week away like boot camp and get back to normal.  Good luck everyone!

I had no weigh in last week...sorry.  Had a trialthon on my normal weigh in day, so I was a bit busy.  BUT!!  I will say that I FEEL better...I think I had a LOT of water retention going on.  I'll be interested to see what the scale says when I hope on this week...

BTW...I took 2nd place Athena in my tri this weekend... sweet!
