A CO2 inflation device for putting air into your tires:

CO2

amyro1234 - 2008-07-17 6:30 AM Oh, another good swag gift: A swim cap- people could always use more of those!

Again, like the water bottles, I have a shelf full of these at home. Someone new to triathlon, however, especially someone with hair, might need these.

I recently got an Oriental Trading catalog called "Imprinted Promotions". They have a lot of stuff cheap. But looking through it I came up with this list (all this stuff can be imprinted with your logo or organization's name):

key chain, bandana, sun visor, stress ball, pens & pencils, mirrors, pedometers, massagers, nail files/buffers, coasters, mugs & cups & sports bottles, luggage/bag tags, tote bags/backpacks, water bottle holders, bumper stickers, memo pads & notebooks, magnets, lanyards & badge holders, cow bells & other noise makers (for all the fans cheering you on for race day), bracelets, dog tags, folding brush with mirror, flip flops, frisbee, sunglasses, sunglass strap, lip balm, license plate frames

These are just a "few" items that I saw that I thought might be somewhat useful. There are a lot of other items too. The thing with Oriental Trading is you have to order a set quantity and the quality of their merchandise is sometimes not "top of the line". But for a swag bag item you can weigh the cost. The online verson is at orientaltrading.com/imprints.

Hope this helps

BucNIowa - 2008-07-17 12:57 PM I recently got an Oriental Trading catalog called "Imprinted Promotions". They have a lot of stuff cheap.

Don't do OTP. It isn't just stuff cheap, it is cheap stuff. Honestly, I have very rarely EVER seen something in there that I would actually want to keep, and I have ordered far too much stuff from there (for games days, fairs, etc.). Ick.

I like the idea of trial-size stuff. Shampoo with the stuff that gets chlorine out, body glide, chamois cream, sunblock, you've already got lip balm, sample-sized Clif bars, etc. I like the race belt.

What about, in addition to a race-day checklist, you put where you find all this stuff. Seriously, I had no idea where one would buy a race belt, since we have no tri stores around here. So a listing of online retailers plus your LBS/LRS, maybe with a short review including the best buys there would be great. You could include where to get a bike fit, which stores will analyze your stride, which swim coaches will help out on your stroke, that sort of info that will help them get up and running/biking/swimming in no time.

Also, be sure to make the bag you give it to them in either small so it is stuffed or useful, like a workout bag or a mesh bag to put wet stuff in. People will totally dig it if you give them an overflowing bag, but will be kinda ho-hum if you give them a half-empty bag with the same amount of stuff. Print up your coupons/discounts/info cards on cardstock just a bit bigger than business cards (or the same size as business cards) rather than full 8.5x11. Then they can stick them into their purses and actually USE them when they go out, or put them on their fridge.

Oh, and a good healthy discount for first time logo wear - right on!

wurkit_gurl - 2008-07-16 12:02 PM Water bottles with club logo - or even the logo of one of the sponors. Heck, I don't care where it comes from if it's a free water bottle. You can never have too many of those.

You haven't seen our cupboards. We have to divest once a year or so to make room. Only ones I regularly use are the Polar bottles.

Instead of water bottles, how about one of those Diva cup thingies? I'm not exactly sure what they are, but I saw the ladies talking about them when I mistakenly stumbled into a women's-only discussion. Some kind of alternative girly drinking device? Can you do a club logo on one of those?

Innocent

U-O-Me, a new key board, and I will send you a medical bill when I get back from the E/R, after having my Nares re-lined.
