I decided to complete my first triathlon this year. Its a sprint in June. I am so excited that I found this site!! I was worried that I wouldn't know where to begin with my training, but there is so much info here. I am still lookin for a training buddy if anyone is in the Lansing area!

Welcome to the site. Good to have another Lansing area person on the site. Any time you want to get together for a run or ride let me know.

I did my first few tris last year, and I used one of the training plans off this site for it. It worked well. Which race are you looking at?

I would love to get together sometime. I spent some time looking through the training programs on this site and I am having a hard time figuring out which I should do. Which plan did you do? I am looking at Grand Haven, Big Fish, and Seahorse. (all sprint) what do you think?

Don't let my tough talk scare you...for all I know the bike course for the sprint is easier.  And heck, you are doing a TRI.  So you've got be a tough gal to begin with !!

If you have any questions feel free to send me a PM

Ha! I keep "running into" people from Lansing everywhere I go. Who knew you people would pop up everywhere????

Used to live in Haslett, but I don't miss it. :-(

How about a run this weekend? (provided it isn't totally frigid). Sunday morning? 9 am? 5 miles? I run about a 10 min mile.

As for which training program, try answering this question: is there one discipline you feel you are stronger in than the others? Or one you feel weak in? If you have one discipline you feel needs work, pick one on the schedules that focuses on that. If you feel relatively equal in each, I would go with one of the balanced programs. They worked for me last year. I started in january of last year unable to swim, picked the swim focused, which worked well for me.

I am planning on the Seahorse and the Grand Haven in my race mix this year.

WoooHooo!  Another "cool kid" for the Michigan gang...Welcome to the site, welcome to Tri...beware of tall men dressed in black...LOL.

We've got folks scattered all across the region...so there are plenty of BT'ers to catch up with for a run, bike, whatever.  I'm right near Pontiac.

Seahorse looks to be the first event with a lot of takers - let us talk you into this one!  I will, though be at Big Fish as a spectator (friend running it).

Stay in touch, good luck with the training!
