Subject: Reversible Angle Seatpost

Hi,

I'm looking for a reversible angle Seatpost, like the one that Cervelo have.  The only one I know is the Bontrager Race X Lite but is a little pricey.  And I dont like the Profile Design FastForward seatpost.

Any of you know where I can find a seatpost with a reversible angle, I don't care if it's aluminum or carbon.

Thanks...

What city are you in? In Los Angeles Pacific-Tri has them (http://www.pacifictri.com). I saw the profile last night and they had another there as well, can't remember the brand. They were about ~$75.

Do you just spin the whole post around and mount the saddle "backwards" or am I missing a tricky bit of engineering? The Cervelo post has a reversable head.

The two I was looking at weren't reversable, they just moved your seat forward.

corima makes a carbon fiber reversible seat post.  colorado cyclist sells it so does ital techno.

the only problem with it is that that seat clamp grips the post not very securly so even if you crank down on it (potentially cracking the carbon) the seat still tends to move up and down.

I've been looking for a place to read up on reversible seatposts, and I can't find a decent resource anywhere. Nor have I been able to find them online at the usual places (nashbar, performancebike, coloradocyclist). I'm not looking for anything elaborate (I may end up doing my first season of Tri's without aerobars or a reversed seatpost anyway) but I'd love to find a place to price them, or at least decent review of a few posts.

Does anyone here know what sort of options there are in terms of reversible posts out there? Or have a good site to price them online?

Check out the Thompson set back (which can be flipped around for a forward position). Go to http://www.tri-zone.com/Catalog/BikeIndex.htmland click on seatposts. You may be able to find it for a better price somewhere else, but tri-zone will get you started by giving you some information.

Charlie -- can I ask why you don't like the Profile FastForward? I'm interested because I was thinking of buying one myself.

here's a new reversible seat post. i've never tried it though but it looks just like the corima seatpost so i'd be wary about how secure the seat will be.this seat clamp sucks because to ensure the seat doesn't move up and down (along the vertical plane) you have to REALLY tighten the center bolt which just puts crazy amounts of pressure on the carbon....guess what that means? Yep, you end up cracking the carbon and the seatpost becomes with HIGHLY dangerous to use or in my case...useless.http://www.zerocomponents.com/seatpost.html
