I just signed up.  I'm not happy about paying $165 bucks for an Olympic course, but I'm addicted to triathlon - literally.  Cheaper than most drugs

I really would like to do this race, but my schedule may be an issue. I'm going out to Los Angeles to do an Olympic, and still deciding between the Los Angeles Oly (Sept 7th) or the Nautica Malibu Oly (Sept 14th).

Even if I opt to go with the LA Oly, I'm not all too sure about doing 2 olympics in 2 weeks. I was able to do 1 olympic and 1 sprint in 8 days with no issue.

Decisions, decisions. I'd better make up my mind quickly, however.

I'm on the fence too and know I'm running out of time. I'm registered to do the Triathlon at Pacific Grove in CA on the 13th, but the trip is looking less and less likely unless I can find a travel companion. Anyone interested?

Otherwise, I might have to eat the $150 I paid and shell out another $165 to do this, because I, too am totally addicted. I'd seriously do a race every weekend if I could. On that note, I'm going to go look at calendars and find more to sign up for...

I ended up missing out on the Urbanathlon (sold out), perhaps it is a blessing in disguise. If I am to do the Los Angeles Olympic, Mighty Hamptons and the Montauk HIM (still up for debate), I really don’t need anything else on my schedule.

Ok, I sucked it up and entered because I was worried it would sell out while I sit here and decide. So now I'm registered for two olys in the same weekend on two different coasts. Do they have some sort of counseling or support group for this level of poor triathlon decision making? Who knows which race I'll do, but at least I now know I won't have to have a raceless weekend.

Anyone done this one? I hope it's at least good.

Any triathlon race out on the end of Long Island has to be good.  It's the birthplace of triathlon

This is the second year I've gotten shut-out of the Men's Health Urbanathlon.   Last year it didn't sell out till late, late August, so I figured this year I had some time.  I'm taking it as a sign that I shouldn't do it.  Besides, twisting an ankle on an obstacle course when I'm doing a HIM, Sprint tri, and a marathon in the following months would NOT be good.

I would have liked to have had a chance to run up 7 WTC. I work a hop, skip and jump from that building.

There's always next year.

you say that now.. after a 9 mile run with some obstacle courses thrown in for good measure..

last year I thought I died at floor 38 .. then.. I kept going and going and going .. the view was spectacular .. then back down.. another mile, some cars and the wall...

harder than any tri i've ever done..

In retrospect, I should clarify the part about "running" up 7 WTC, being I've been told the stairwell is essentially a sauna. In this case my running would be more along the lines of a panting, sloppy fall UP 50 something flights of stairs.

Back to the Hamptons Olympic; I’m not sure I’m going to sign up for this race. I’ve already signed up for 2 events (not counting the North Fork Century which Tim has generously offered), purchased a new bike computer and a new trainer on my last paycheck. I honestly can’t justify spending another 175 bucks on another race until next month. If by chance there is still space at that time, I’ll hop in.

Or if Event Power opens the event to more registrants, like they did for the Mighty North Fork.

I'm definitely doing this as well. I decided to drop the Pacific Grove oly, there is just too much going on. Hope to see everyone in the Hamptons!

I'm doing the Los Angeles Triathlon the weekend before this one ... so it should be interesting to see how much I have left in the tank. After this race, it'll be full steam ahead to the Montauk 1/2 Ironman.

Since my injury is keeping me from doing this race (the doc looked at me like I was completely insane when I asked if he thought I could still do it), I emailed the RD and offered to volunteer. I'm sure there are plenty of tasks for a one-armed individual and I figured I'd rather be there even if I can't compete. So I hope to get a chance to see you all and cheer you on!
