Here's a thread with BTers who did the double and triple iron races in Virginia:

That's as back-to-back as it gets.

Hillary Biscay, a pro who gave an interview here (and a friend of mine) just did Roth and Lake Placid on consecutive weekends, placing 6th and 3rd in the women's field.

Why, what are you thinking of?

If you are asking because in a fit of insanity you are thinking of doing Kona and then IMFL...you *could* do it provided that you aren't just completely trashed after Kona. Literally don't do anything (but maybe swim and some light biking, NO RUNNING) between the two. IMFL wouldn't be a stellar race but you could finish.

Not me, but Joe Boness has done it a few times.

Seroiusly, though, his wife has said on 1 week back-to-backs he likes to have a hot tub and a beer after the first race.  He takes anti-inflamatories and hydrates.  The next day he runs--just until he feels the muscles get free (as little as 10 minutes).  Then no hard workouts for the week and just swim and bike.  The goal is just to keep the muscles and joints from 'freezing up'.

I know there is a BTer who is planning to race IMLP, IMKY, IMWI and the VA Triple next season.

Come on, do you really, really think that Kona and IMFL is something I would ever think about doing?  (wink, wink

Interesting thread, I'm anxious to see how Steve makes out this year.  I am planning on doing IMLP, IMLO, IMWI, then the Virginia Triple Ironman next year.  Crazy, maybe but what the hell.
