Subject: Fall camping trip?

Last week Amy and I rode through Bong state park and campground in Kenosha county.  We thought it would be a great place for fall BT family campout.  Close to home, nice sites, places to run and ride, kids activities (fishing, hiking...)

We could do a Saturday overnight, big camp fire, smores......and a big pancake breakfast Sunday morning.

Sometime after the first freeze to reduce the mosquitoes, perhaps early october?

Respond to the thread if there is any interest.

My home turf!

Sounds like fun...I need to buy a tent (no, I would not borrow that Taj Ma-tent for one night of camping)

I'm interested. We never did get around to camping this summer - so a fall trip sounds like a great idea.

Fall might be o.k. as far as mosquitos...friends camped at Bong in June and were literally eaten alive. According to them, the campsites are near marshy areas...FWIW.

I'd have to check the Badger schedule, but sure does sound like a good time.  My boys love to sleep in tents....me, not so much.  But I would take one for the team

On Sunday Sept 28, there is a 5K run/walk around Wolf Lake at Bong. The course is mostly grass and has some wild hills. In all it is a fun but challenging run.

Is this for married folks with kids, or does it include us single peepsUndecided

I might be interested.  I love camping, and so does my boyfriend.  I am familiar with Bong, but haven't been there in a while.

Also you might want to post this in Illinois forum, there are lots of northern IL folks who might be interested... but that's up to you.

I'll check back to see if this happens... good idea!
