Ooh a little handshake between rebalin and menchov.  I wonder what the agreement was.

Thats a huge attack by Schleck.  I don't think he's got the finishing speed to win though.

He's definitely trying to break everbody before they get to the line.  That was impressive.

Sanchez gets it.  Not the Spaniard I thought would win but a Spaniard none the less.

Definitley not the Spaniard I was expecting either, but great finish from him.  I thought Cancellara was going to be able to take it.

If there had been another km I think Cancerllara may have done as he'd have had time to recover but as it was he didn't have anything left in his legs after bridging the gap.

damn, missed it. Fell asleep during the opening ceremonies and can't seem to find the video online.  I know they are covering it today on NBC here in the states but figures to be little coverage...

Obviously I didn't watch the event live.. Just saw the chop suey version of it on NBC (altogether 53 minutes of coverage). Some thoughts:
- They let the lone Chinese cyclist led the peloton in the beginning. That was nice.
- The scenes were breathtaking.
- They commentator didn't mention Bettini's "mechanical problem".
- The camera did catch a couple of cyclists pulling to the side to answer nature's calling.
- Yes 6.5 hrs of road race boiled down to 53 minutes.
- Love it when the cyclists waved at the camera.
- Weird to see the lack of corporate logos (compared that with TdF)

Great race. If you want to watch the entire thing, it's on the nbcolympics.com website. Check the videos section under Cycling and they have both a highlights video and the entire 6+ hour video. Not sure how the streaming/downloading on that is, but it's available for the true junkies that missed it live.
