Jen,

Thanks for the kind words ... I am pretty proud of my family too, we have been blessed in so many ways.

Meeting the BTers has also been a blessing and motivation, thank you all for being here! I will meet by the Kent Lake bathroom building (or the parking lot if we can get in there!) around 5:30ish. I hope to be there by 5:00, but with traffic/construction, you never know!

Jo, Melissa and I did the Island Lake hill last time we rode ILRA. Going down is a lot of fun, coming back up is a bit of work, but it is no where as long or high as the other two hills. Don't worry about that one! I actually hate the 360 degree turns, they kill your time ...

I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow night!

Dan

Jo,

I haven't done that hill for a while but I don't think its nearly as long as the other ones that we've been doing all summer.  Its going to be a lot of turning for a sprint course, but oh well.

What is the meetup time?  I'm not doing the race, but would like to make it out there to cheer for everyone.  Plus, I have a few roadie Greyhounds to make fu...er.....cheer on   Laughing

Weee!  I haven't seen you in a while, so this will be muy fun!

I think 5:30 - race start is a good meet up time.  Lana Bana and I will be doing a quick ride pre race (I am having MAJOR bike noise concerns... grrr) along ILRA, so I will be there early!

I will also be there Thursday if anyone is up for a swimmy bike brick.  25 miles bike - 1400m swim.

My race # is 255.

I just keep thinking of Dory in Finding Nemo.."Just keep swimming, just keep swimming."

If you see a gal with green TYR suit and tri shorts on looking like she's lost....THAT'S ME!

Yea, I'm a little nervous too. Between bike breakdowns and band gigs, I haven't had the training that I should. Lucky for me I keep a collection of flea market specials and I'm pretty handy at fixing bikes. Now if I would quit falling down and bending the wheels, I wouldn't have to be fixing wheels and swapping bikes all the time. In case anyone was wondering, you should alway unclip BEFORE attempting to dismount a bicycle.
I'm looking forward to the race tonight. It should be a lot of fun.

See you there.

Well it looks like there will be 400 people there!  AWESOME!

I will be on Kent Lake near the bathrooms at 5:30ish.  OK between 5:30 and 6:15ish then.

See you all out there!  Pray to the rain gods to hold off until we're finished (or better yet, have the skies open up while we're running!).     I'll be in my greyhound gear (pumpkin orange t-shirt and plaid tri top with a crazy looking dog on it) and hanging out with Jen (runnergirl).

Apparently I'm a victim of my own hype as they are saying the race is full. Fiddlesticks.

Sorry all.  I had to get three fillings redone this afternoon and by the time I was done, getting out to ILRA from Royal Oak would have been just plain stupid.  Frown   I hope you all had a great time and that the rain gods held off in your neck of the woods!

As for ILRA Thursdays, I'm out on that this week, too.  Canada is a much nicer place to be than off Woodward this weekend.  Laughing

Well, All I can say is the... THE RACE WAS SO AWESOME.... I got to yell at lots of people....

So for those you who I told the wrong rack to go to as you entered transition sorry (I think I directed you all correctly)..

And tonight I will be saying come down past the mount lion.... Dismount at the tree ... Good job... Someones behind you Dismount at the tree.....

Yes that raving lunatic was me.

Sara was first Women off the bike but I don't know if she missed a turn (Unfortunately the lead guy did and I heard a few others did also).

It was fun watching the mounts and miss-mounts along with the dismounts. People really need to learn how to do a flying dismount the time savings was very impressive.

Hope everyone had a good time. I did.

It was such an Awesome race!!!  (Sorry Tom, Sorry Kimm).  Seriously, it was so incredible being out there and to cheer for and be cheered on by.... like half the state!  As a Michigan newcomer (less that 2 years) it is simply unbelievable that I can go out and do a race like that (400 participants!) and be running into people I know every time I turn around-FABULOUS Stuff!

Thanks Dave, Dan & family, Jen (plus Jen's friends Lana & Jane, and boyf Mike), TrishM, Jogo, and newcomer Lisa plus all my Greyhound teammates (Shannon, jogo, Brian, Scott, Wendy, Erin, DJ & Tuka plus all S.O.'s and children) for making me really feel like I was on home turf.  (Wow I hope I didn't forget anyone)

Bravo Running Fit, great event and looking forward to these races again next year!

Great job, that's a better time than my first tri. You obviously survived the swim

I think I PR'd by over 10 minutes. I had a much improved swim, I actually didn't have to side or breast stroke this time. I'll make out a full report tomorrow. I didn't get to meet all the BT people, but it was great seeing the ones that I did. OK I'm really hooked on triathlon now. Time to start saving pennies for a tri bike.
