FAST Island Lake of Novi Tri - who's giving her a shot?

Expert  1170    Berkley, MI |  Subject: FAST Island Lake of Novi Tri - who's giving her a shot?So I was wondering, who is doing the Island Lake of Novi tri this Sunday 8/17? It marks the end of my 2008 multisport season (I have a lot of running to do soon!), as well as the end of my TRIfecta. There are still spots open - and if you really want to try something different, there is a 1.5 mile open water swim option! 3 loops of the swim course. It is held in a subdivision in Novi, NOT ILRA. It is a nice little tri that is pretty self contained. check out the info on www.swimfasttrifast.com for registration details.

Call me crazy, but I've been fancying the 1.5 mile swim-a-roo sorta as a test for my planned HIM next year. I'm still thinking..... I've never done more than Oly distance in open water so still pondering! |

I won't be in town this year, but I did it last year- it was really nice considering we swam in the fog and biked/ran in the pouring rain! Took me an hour to stop shivering. I predict better weather this year

You can do it! Think of how much fun it would be! well I think this is a bit odd, you know I got an emails saying they closed reg yesterday and there's only 235 tri folks and only like 25 swimmers? Seems as though they'd leave it open. |

I am happy to report that I took 1st Athena! It's gonna be a long winter.... Whoot! WTG on your first! How was the weather this year? I was too far north to take part in this one but I endured the 50 degrees and foggy with Sushigirl last year. The foggy swim was terrible, but the bike and run courses are pancake flat and very fast. BTW, you should make Bluewater your last.  |
