I just registered online for Ironman Cozumel and have received a confirmation number and everything.  But, it looks like the 'real' registration isn't until Monday the 19th.  Does anyone know what this early registration actually gets you???

No, if you got a confirmation email you are in, so hold on to the $3 in Active.com "processing fees" you saved.

It looks like there are over 400 people registered as of today - this IM is capped at 1500.

OK, thanks.  How did you find out about the registration #s?  I didn't see that on the website.

I hope it doesn't fill up too quickly because I want to wait to register.  How can you see how many people are already registered?  Just curious so I can keep an eye on it.

I think the only way to know is to register (ironic, huh?).  I registered this morning and I am # 438.

Take the plunge!

A seemingly chronological number is issued on the confirmation in addition to the confirmation number.  I registered last Thursday (8/7) and was #241.  I have kept an eye on a few other tri sites like ST and threads on this race and saw that someone posted this morning that they receveived something around #415.  As far as I know there is no official way of looking this up on the website or otherwise.

I suggest that if anyone signs up for this race that you post your # so everyone here can keep an eye on how this filling up and make their decision accordingly.  It sounds like there are a lot of people here waiting to pull the trigger, so this could be helpful in getting a good BT contingent to Cozumel.

I imagine there will be a jump next week when it goes on active.com, but it probably want sell out for a while, especially considering we are over 15 months away.

I registered yesterday afternoon, have my confirmation, reciept and the charge on my credit card.  Worried though that the official registration date is not until Monday.  Also, I don't see where it tells me what # registrant I am.  Can anyone tell me how to find that out and I'll post it for others.

It should be on your confirmation or email confirmation between Category and Confirmation - it is only listed as Number.

From what I have read, active.com registration is delayed to give people in the host country a chance to sign up before it opens on active.  I don't quite understand, but that made me feel better about the whole sign-up thing.

Oh wow.  I see now on my Active confirmation that it has my "bib number" as 605 - just above Age Division.  Anyone with a more recent (higher) number?

My brother and I are thinking about making Cozumel our first.  Cant believe the number of entrants are already so high.  How long do you think we have till it gets full?

If at least 643 had registered before active.com opened yesterday I can't imagine there are many spots left now...

I was wondering the same thing- what the number is now.

Edited:  I checked on the "other" tri website and found this number from yesterday.  So it's almost half full.

699 -- 47% full.

I just saw this on the website and was wondering if it's really an AG group start and not a mass start?  Does anyone know if this is accurate or just a typo??

Pick your packet, it must include: Back pack, race numbers (body, bike, helmet), swim cap (see chart for color according to age group start wave), ticket to Pasta Dinner, ticket to closing party, information booklet, Winning Time chip, official fleece jacket, water bottle, Bike gear bag (BLUE) and Run gear bag (RED).

I think they must have copied a lot of the info from the Cancun 70.3 page (same organizers). I can't imagine the 140.6 being a wave start. It will take a lot of the mystique out of it, don't you think?
