Saddle Sore

I've read through some of the threads on saddle sores, but wanted to see if anybody had a new recommendation.

This past weekend when doing my last long ride before IMKY I developed a saddle sore for the first time ever.  I'm 90% sure it had to do with ill fitting bike shorts, those will never be worn again.  I rode on it last night, and it hurt like hell.  Afterward I noticed that it has now become an abscess.  I'm going to the doctor this afternoon, but wanted to see if anybody else has experienced this.  My concern is that IMKY is just over 2 weeks away and I want to get rid of this before then.  I also want to bike several more times during my taper.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.
