bi-monthly 2 mile build up from 4mile base over 3 months
Steep Hill Training Intervals
Steep Hill Training 1/4 and 1/2 mi intervals fr 6K to 7K ft. alt.
Event warmup:

2 week taper

3 day carb load

Comments:

This was a difficult run. I felt lactic acid burn out at mile 6. I had to work to just finish. From mile 11 on I was struggling just to keep running.
What would you do differently?:

Use better shoes. Utilize gel packs at miles 4 and 9. Hydrate as I do when I train.

Warm down:

Hit the pool. Ate and Slept. Yoga

What limited your ability to perform faster:

1st Eventfor me
Needed gel caps
Hydrating correctly

Event comments:

This race is not for the newcomer. It is difficult. If you race you will need to train for the hills and the terrain.

I am assuming that it was on the base..  I remember those hill well when I was in the USMC.  Every freakin day up and down..

Who put on the race?

BTW - Great race.. It seems you figure out where you needed to improve.

Way to Gut Check yourself and finish...  You might me USMC material..
