I don't think I realized how big I am until those 1st tri pictures came to my inbox.

My arm looks like a lump of lard sitting on my shoulder. *sigh*

I hate my own race pix for the most part, but keep in mind that you were not standing still for the race so nobody saw that one moment in time except the photographer.  Also, I try to also remember that people there are either 1)worrying about their own race, 2) volunteering and focusing on their job,  3) cheering on their friends/family or 4) cheering on everyone for being out there and being awesome no matter what size or shape!!

Keep on doing it!!!  If you are going to do an IM in a few years, like your sig line says, you will want these before pix anyway!

Dammit I do not care anymore. I got those same pictures too!

I went out and bought the biggest tri jersey I could find. I still look like a snake that swallowed a football. First day with it will be tomorrow. I am going to let my results do the talking and try not to look at the silly pictures.

Keep working.

I feel your pain. I was wearing a one piece tri suit and you could see every roll in the bakery. I was so depressed after I saw them, I actually started crying. But I eventually got over it and now have some awesome 'before' pics to compare against what I'm going to eventually look like

i thought the same thing about mine (see my avitar).  but then people reminded me of one fact: you are a triathlete, which is more than a lot of people (big or small) can say.  keep up the good work

Same here. I found a one piece tri suit on ebay (XXL size) when I got it I was mad at how bad I looked in it. But come race day I wore it anyways and I wore it proud.

Do not worry how big you are. As long as next year you can look at your pics compared to this year and go. Wow what a difference a year makes your doing good. Even if you do not think where you would be without the training and racing? I commend anyone who wants to improve themselves no matter what the improvement is.

screw that, as long as you look at you times from this year compared to next and say "wow look at what I did in a year" then you're kicking butt.

It's not a fashion show people, My jiggling butt can go longer and harder than the bulk of America.

Oh girl.  Do I know how you feel.  I get so nervous every time I go to look at my tri shots.  Dear god.  They are bad.  I just want to look like everybody else, rather than worrying about tugging my damn shirt down the entire time.  Alas, I'll get there.  But man, it sucks to have to wear spandex on the whole journey.

I look at my photos from last year, the year before, the year before that, etc. No change in weight (sorry to report) but I keep plugging away and helping others to become triathletes. For many of us, it's about health. Unfortunately, my body won't let me lose weight but that hasn't stopped me from keepin' goin'. ATtempting Ironman Florida 08.
I may not finish in the 17 hours, but I going to try (if they let me) to finish. In my mind, I'll be an Ironman even if they don't shout my name through the loudspeaker.

Writers.

remember training is important part of weight lose as well as calorie in take. That is how I was able to lose some weight.

Writers I am proud of you going to that start line. You might be surprised how well you do on race day. Besides if you go there and fail at least you tried. I know for whatever reason 25% of IMKY participates did not even start.
