Subject: tri shorts

I am on what seems to be a neverending quest for a well fitting pair of tri shorts.  I have bike shorts, running shorts, running skirts, you name it....but I cannot find a good pair of tri shorts for competing.  I am trying to find the right combination of compression and comfort.  I like a lot of compression, but then I tend to have them cut into my chub at the waitstline.  Cutting into chub = not comfortable and NOT attractive either!

If only they made a WIDE wasitband pair of trishorts, my life could be complete.  Have you seen a product like this or do you have any suggestions?

Not sure what dimensions you are - but I am 6'4 300 pounds - which works out to about a 44 in waist.  I wear a pair of Pearl Izumi XXL trishorts - they compress well through the legs and the waist band is large enough that even at my size I have to use the draw string.

Triathletesports has them.  But I searched for "Pearl Izumi Tri shorts XXL" on Google Shop and found a place that had the size on sale.  Go to

This is where I got mine

I'm a big fan of the DeSoto Forza tri shorts and the Oomph tri shorts.  The Oomphs get a bigger thumbs up on the waist-comfort scale but the DeSotos seem to be better for leg compression.
