You should be able to find them at any running shoe store, or some place similar.

As for their usefulness, I have a set I put on for races only in order to make transitions easier.  I don't like to have them on all the time b/c even when they're "loose", my shoes still fit very tightly.   Other than that, I think they're great to use.

the most well known brand is Yankz, but there are other cheaper options, just search triathlon shoe laces....Yankz just have a specific method of lacing which allows the entire shoe to tighten at once, as opposed to the traditional bottom up lacing method ....once you get used to them and tighten them just right, you can wear them on your shoes all the time...it would be a pain to have to put them in and take them out...hope this helps

Yankz, Love them and have them on all my running and workout shoes.
Internet or Running shoe store will have them for about $6.00

If you get them adjusted properly, you can keep them on all the time.  Yes, they are great.  If you lace your shoes in a non-standard way (as I do) -- for example, to reduce heel slippage (which is my problem) -- then you might have to get creative to get the Yankz (or equivalent) to do the same thing, but it can be done.  Experiment.

Wouldn't go without them. You can adjust to the tention you want and you certainly gain time in transition.

Yankz-I love them! I have them on all of my running shoes and will not go back to laces!

One vote for EZ Laces, which also cost a bit less than Yankz. I've also seen many folks that simply buy elastic lace at crafts stores and use that. Whichever way you go, it works great and saves a lot of time.

I use lock laces & would recommend them to anyone. I have not used the other brands but I am a big fan of lock laces. I will say however, that I do not use the big plastic "bell" piece. I leave them in all the time & they work great.

I use EZ Laces, and keep them in my shoes all the time.  Besides being quicker in transition, They seem to have provided another benefit for me.  I think I have a tendancy to tie reqular laces too tight, and my feet used to fall asleep on runs (within 1-2 miles).  Since I switched to the elastic laces, I don't have this problem, and my shoes fit exactly the same every time I run.
