Sushi, love the stuff. Good balance of protein and carbs.

big fan of the pb on wheat toast. love the veggie burgers as well. i can't go back to redmeat burgers and the havoc they wreck in my stomach afterwards.

the morning of, i've been having a cup of cooked oatmeal w/ a tbs of honey and a 1/4 cup of soy milk. seems to give me plenty of sustained energy. i'm trying to balance what i eat in the days leading up to the race too, to make sure i'm getting what i need.

Man, can I borrow your taste buds, since you're obviously not using them.

My standard pre-race dinner is Bombay Chicken & Rice. The recipe is posted at this link if you'd like to give it a try.

Hah! Yeah, I save the butter, garlic, Maguro and Toro for the post-race dinner.

Bland is better for me on raceday... kinda' like airline food... the spicier they make it the more people lose it at altitude.

You guys should taste the Grape Pedialyte... they really improved the taste about 14 mos ago, though its still not outselling OJ, if you catch my drift. Goes great with a nice marbled rib-eye... stay away from the unflavored stuff though...

Nothing hydrates me better than Pedialyte.... its fricking pricey though.

I like a good old chicken alferdo. Pasta has the carbs, chicken the protein, and alferdo sauce the fat. Yes fat is important, just don't get to much. But thats just my 2 cents.

Pre-race tradition: Bacon Egg and Cheese buscuit with a Dr. Pepper from MacDonnalds.  I haven't had on since my last race in September.

I can't wait for next weekend...

The night before is usually a pasta something or other with alfredo sause, although fondue seems to agree well with me too (veggies, cheese and bread). For the morning of... A banana, a gel packet and a Myoplex shake (it getting to be quite the superstitious routine now).

Sushi for me to the night before. Well I usually have sushi at least once a week.

Race morning, cereal and half a bagel with peanut butter, maybe more for a longer race.

Granola ( w/ flax ), soy milk ( silk ), and fruit ( cantalope, pear, melons, something juicy ).

And gotta have my coffee ( espresso actually ).

Though I've actually done a big plate of scrambled eggs before a long bike ride a couple times and that worked good too. Eggs + chopped onion + a little cilantro, topped with diced tomatoes.

Hey Brian, you were outed in Inside Triathlon this month.  Don't you mean "Bombay Chicken & Rice and several slices of cake"?
