Subject: Training loss advice

Hey folks!  Here's the scoop....I have an oly on Labor Day.  It will be my fourth of this distance, so I'm not too worried about surviving it, but I'd like to do better than I did at this same race last year.  Problem is that I just lost a full week of training this past week because I had food poisoning.

My question is what's the best way for me to approach these last couple of weeks?  Should I just try to jump back into my plan and taper as normal?  Should I make my intensity higher this week (now that I'm feeling better)? Should I ease back into it and hope for the best? What do you think?

Sorry to hear you had a bad bug!

I have done "train through" OLY races with only 1/2 week taper and done well in them.

So, here's what I'd do: I'd do the week of harder workouts you missed, say that's week 10 out of your 12 week plan. Then the week after, I'd do week 12 of your plan, so you get your taper. So, you'd be skipping week 11 instead of 10.

Good luck!
